Pour la première fois, cinquante des plus grands spécialistes mondiaux de la biodiversité et du climat ont publié, ce jeudi 10 juin, un rapport commun sur le sujet. Ils y affirment l’impérieuse nécessité d’aborder conjointement ces crises pour espérer les résoudre, et ce alors qu’en France le Conseil d’État  demande au gouvernement de muscler sa politique climatique.<\/b>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pour établir ce rapport se sont réunis en visioconférences des experts sélectionnés par le groupe d’experts intergouvernemental sur l’évolution du climat (GIEC<\/a>) et la plate-forme intergouvernementale scientifique et politique sur la biodiversité et les services écosystémiques (IPBES<\/a>). Il s’agit de la première collaboration entre ces deux organismes qui évaluent l’état des connaissances scientifiques sur ces deux thématiques.<\/strong><\/p>\n

« Le changement climatique menace de plus en plus la nature et les services qu’elle rend aux populations,<\/em> a expliqué le climatologue Hans-Otto Pörtner, coprésident du comité de pilotage scientifique du rapport. Plus le monde se réchauffe, moins il y a de nourriture ou d’eau potable dans de nombreuses régions. Les changements de biodiversité, à leur tour, affectent le climat, en particulier par le biais d’impacts sur les cycles du carbone et de l’eau. Un avenir mondial durable est encore réalisable, mais il nécessite un changement radical. »<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
